Familiar Faces explores the personalities and emotional significance of people close to me through a combination of realistic portraiture and expressive abstraction. Using symbolic objects, dynamic lines, contrasting colors, and layered compositions, I sought to capture qualities beyond physical likeness—how each person makes me feel and the characteristics I associate with them. Personal details, from meaningful jewelry to objects representing shared experiences, connect each portrait to its subject. Through this series, I aimed to celebrate the individuality of my loved ones and share their essence with the viewer.
